6th District of Illinois – Holding Rep. Peter Roskam Accountable

This group has been created for constituents of Rep. Peter Roskam, Congressman for the 6th District of Illinois, to organize and make ourselves heard by our Representative. The Congressman has shown little responsiveness to the concerns of the people he represents, so it is incumbent upon us to make ourselves known. For more information visit Facebook.

• We will form smaller teams to study individual issues and inform the larger group.
• We will educate and empower ourselves and our neighbors to realize the civic potential to make a difference.

• We march, rally, and protest peacefully with both passion and compassion.
• We communicate with our local, state, and federal legislators to make our voices heard.
• We partner with other Progressive groups when we seek to build a louder chorus.

Action 6th District Illinois

We’re a non-partisan group created by the people of the 6th Congressional District of Illinois.

We aim to draw attention to the needs of our District not being addressed by our elected representative, Peter Roskam. We achieve this through focusing on legislation in the House of Representatives. Our team posts regular information about upcoming Bills and Congressional activities, and we encourage members to take action.

We’re looking for change through:
– In-person town halls and personal accountability.
– Responsive leadership that listens to our voices, shares our concerns, and empathizes with those who struggle.
– Transparent and open communication.
– The ability to embrace all constituents, from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion or political party.

We believe that, by working together, the people of Illinois’ 6 th District can join forces to bring about positive change and a stronger community united in spirit and action.

NWSOFA is committed to mobilizing and training the next generation of progressive organizers and leaders, because real, lasting change doesn’t just happen on its own—it requires a program, it requires organizing, and it requires people like you. With grassroots chapters in neighborhoods across the country, OFA volunteers are building this movement from the ground up, person to person, community by community—because democracy isn’t a spectator sport. NWSOFA volunteers are building it’s organization from the ground up, community by community, one conversation at a time—whether that’s on a front porch or on Facebook.
